Young Artists Ensemble

 

The Young Artists Ensemble (YAE), founded in 1981, began as a small group with limited resources performing in a local park. Today, it produces an annual Family Theatre Season, Teen Dramas, and Teen Summer Musicals, garnering praise for its high-quality productions. YAE has instilled a love for the arts in Conejo Valley youth, providing hundreds of kids, ages 10-19, with opportunities to perform in well-known plays and musicals, reaching thousands of local theatre-goers each year.

The program is a collaboration between the Conejo Recreation and Park District (CRPD), the Arts Council of the Conejo Valley (ACCV), the Alliance for the Arts, and the Conejo Valley Unified School District. While CRPD funds administrative and technical staff, many positions are supported by ticket sales, fees, and donations, with over 100 volunteers helping raise funds and execute the program.
